Description: | A thick book, cardboard covers. The cover corners and back of the book are clothed with brown leather, the rest of the covers with bluish-grey paper. Title on the frontside of the front cover, written on a piece of paper (144 x 112 mm) which is glued on. The whole cover seems to be of a later date, the piece of paper with the original title on it seems to have been cut out of the original cover and glued on the new one. The layers are bound together with a thread. Index on fol. 137 recto and verso, sorted by the titles initial letter (with the exeption of Weckmann's "Kommt her zu mir", which appears under the letter "I"), on a separate sheet of paper inserted before the rear cover. The title and the index are written by GD's hand, as well as the folio numbers in the upper left corner of each verso side. These folio numbers are somewhat inconsistent; they start correctly up to fol. 35, than one page is left out in the counting, so that the number 36 is written on fol. 37; fol. 38 is left out again, so that the number 37 is written on fol. 39. There are two folios marked with number 41, so that the folio marked "42" should be 45. From this point to fol. 58 (that bears the number 55) there is a difference of three between the actual folio number and the number written on it. Then all of a sudden the next folio is marked with number 60 (it is actually fol. 59), and up to fol. 81 the numbers written on the sheets are one number ahead. Fol. 82 is left out of the counting, and the next folio bears the right number again, "83". From this point to the end of the book all the folio numbers are correct. No folio numbers are on the last four sheets. The tabulature scores are written by different hands, but divided in several sections by GD. On fol. 1r it starts with "N: 1", the first six pieces are following. On fol. 15r it says "N: 2.", followed by the next 9 pieces. On fol. 37r it says "N. 4.", followed by 5 pieces. On fol. 49r "N. 5." is found, followed by 4 pieces. On fol. 57r "N. 6" followed by 5 pieces. On fol. 71r "N. 7." followed by 6 pieces. On fol. 87r "N. 8." followed by 4 pieces. Fol. 97r is empty, but a faint "N. 9." that has been erased can still be seen with some difficulties; it is followed by 2 pieces. On fol. 103r "N. 10" followed by 9 pieces. On fol. 125r "N. 12." followed by 5 pieces. Nos. 3 and 11 are missing. Each page with a section number has nothing else on it, and the page before is empty, too. That divides the sections very clearly. Above that the sections always start at the beginning of a new layer. Fol. 133-136 are a little bit shorter than the other sheets; it seems like this gathering of <2> has been inserted when the rest of the book already was bound. Fol. 132v and 133r are empty. |

Comments: | Correction on fol. 43v-44r: The first two pages of the following piece by Carissimi "Suscitavit Dominus" are written in on these two pages, upside down, and crossed out. The whole piece is following on fol. 44v-47r, written in the right direction. The tabulatures are written by several different hands in several sections that seem to have been seperate tabulature volumes at first (this can be seen in several finishing comments/inscriptions by the copyist at the end of some of the sections, see source comments for details); they must have been bound together in a book and provided with title and index by GD in 1664. The only original date appearing in the volume besides the one in the title is 1663 on fol. 51r, but crossed out; there is the inscription "De Scri[p]si A.o 1663 d 30 Sept: Lybeck S: Ma/ K: auff Großen Orgell in Lybeck"; the hand is not GD's.
