| Description: | Thick book with cardboard covers bound in light brown leather. On the edge of each cover (front and rear) there are the remains of two leather bands that could have once been used to keep the book closed. The layers are bound together with a thread. Title on the front cover, written by GD. On the rear cover upside down another title by GD's hand is found: "LIBRO. II. Di./ Scherzi [Francese]./ 1663.", the word "Francese" is erased but still visible. On the spine of the cover there is the number 4 written with ink and a library mark with the signature. The book has red and green speckled edging and is partly torn off from the cover. The first folio is empty, then the index follows. The index is written by GD's hand. The tabulatures start on fol. 4v. The tabulatures have folio numbers written by GD and his helper in the upper left corner on the verso side, starting with the number "1" on fol. 4v, so that these numbers are 3 behind the actual folio number. The number "102" appears twice, so that fom that point (from the actual fol. 106) the numbers are 4 behind the actual folio numbers. Fol. 4r as well as 176v-177v are empty. The last piece in the volume (Rosenmüller's "Ach Herr strafe mich nicht") is incomplete. |
