Description:Appears as a thick red book; cardboard cover, covered with red-painted leather. The front cover is torn off from the book on its lower half; there it can be seen that a piece of paper is used as a central core, with swedish text printed in two colours, red and black (apparently a liturgical programme). Marmorate edging in red and green. Title on the outside of the front cover. On the inside of the front cover: some library notes and mark on the top of the page, a little arithmetic problem on the left edge a bit lower. Three modern sheets with the borrowing history are inserted between the cover and fol. 1. One incomplete index on fol. 1v; this page is divided in 4 fields by 3 vertical lines; the first 16 pieces appear with their order numbers. One complete index on fol. 138v and the inside of the rear cover; the pieces appear with their folio numbers. Folio numbers by GD's hand on the verso side of each sheet in the left upper corner. Everything (even all the tabulature scores) is written by GD's hand. Most of the tabulature scores lack text. Folios 105v and 106r are empty.
Date1:1663
Date2:1664
Date ref:fol. 12r, 33r, 103r, 119r, 122r, 127r, 133r, cover
Comments:Correction on fol. 4v-5r: In the first row the beginning of the piece "Nulla scientia melior est" by Georg Arnold is notated and crossed out; on fol. 12v and following, the whole piece can be found. Gathering: Fol. 86 consists of two sheets of paper, glued together. That's why there are only 138 folios, and not 139, as the gathering structure suggests. The reason for the sheets being glued together is not obvious. In several places (fol. 12r, 25r, 26r, 66r, 70r) there are small pieces of paper attached to the pages; they contain some bars, often at the end of a piece, that didn't have space on the original page. For their exact size and position see source comments. On fol. 73v there is a piece of paper glued to the sheet, covering one passage, containing a correction.
